Jon Haber, Executive Vice President of First Advantage Assessment Solutions (formerly SkillCheck) founded SkillCheck in 1988 and transformed the company from an independent publisher of nationally acclaimed computer reference books to an international leader in computer-based aptitude testing.

Under Haber's leadership, SkillCheck assessment solutions leapfrogged available testing technology, offering superior performance-based testing, a broad multilingual product line, and unique customization capabilities. The SkillCheck portfolio of testing innovations coupled with Haber's unique ability to develop effective skills assessment programs for multinational organizations has earned the trust of thousands of companies, including two of the world's largest staffing organizations. Haber graduated with Honors from Wesleyan University with a B.S. in Chemistry. He is also the co-author of a new book from ISTE on the evolving role of technology in education.

 

Dean Lambert, Director of Sales and Technology

Dean Lambert brings over 17 years of experience in software design, development and management to his role. Before joining SkillCheck (now First Advantage Assessment Solutions) in 1996, Lambert was Manager of Software Engineering at Software Horizons, where he worked for over a decade. Prior to that he graduated from New Hampshire Technical Institute, where he taught courses in C++ for five years.

Under Lambert's direction, the SkillCheck product has witnessed a ten-fold increase in its product portfolio, software updates and releases. Lambert was also instrumental in the launch of SkillCheck online testing solutions. As technical liaison to the division’s largest customers, including some of the world's largest international staffing companies, Lambert plays a key role in developing effective custom aptitude testing solutions. Lambert’s leadership role in the Assessment Solutions Division sales and marketing initiatives led to a 47% increase in direct sales between 2004 and 2005.

 

Kristin Griffin Lynch, Vice President, Marketing

Kristin Griffin Lynch joined SkillCheck (now First Advantage Assessment Solutions) in 2003 bringing to her role two decades of marketing experience and a track record of achievement with companies including Raytheon Company, Talbots, The Gillette Company, Parametric Technology Corporation and a number of emerging technology companies, including Aware, Inc. and MCK Communications.

With specific expertise in marketing communications and public relations, Lynch guides the Assessment Solutions Division in its efforts to gain greater awareness, drive successful product launches, and stimulate new business. Lynch’s leadership role in SkillCheck product sales and marketing initiatives led to a 47% increase in direct sales between 2004 and 2005. She holds a B.A. in English and an M.B.A. from Boston College.

 

Nich Haber, Vice President, Enterprise Sales

Nich Haber joined SkillCheck (now First Advantage Assessment Solutions) in 1990 after graduating with Honors from Brandeis University. He successfully managed the creation of the SkillCheck international product line of multilingual performance-based tests for office software skills. In his current position, he has assumed overall responsibility for the company's national and international sales, significantly increasing domestic and overseas sales of both software testing products and Internet testing products and services.

Through his work with enterprise-level clients, Haber has been able to offer customized aptitude test solutions that meet the client's specific needs. Key clients with whom he has worked include the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the American Heart Association, Staffmark and the Federal Government of Belgium (SELOR).

 

Marc Steinberg, Director of Development

Before joining SkillCheck (now First Advantage Assessment Solutions) in 1998, Marc Steinberg served as a senior developer and product development team leader for Qwiz, a major competitor of the SkillCheck product line in the computer-based aptitude testing market. Experienced in a variety of emerging technologies and standards including J2EE/Java, C/C++/MFC, CGI/perl/HTML, NT/Linux, and ODBC/SQL, he coordinates all programming and IT-related projects at SkillCheck.

Steinberg began his tenure at the Assessment Solutions Division by designing a product-development system for generating aptitude test content. He currently directs the ongoing research and development efforts surrounding the corporate portal website and test content architecture. Steinberg holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University.

 

Gerry Weinberg, Director, Channel Sales

Gerry Weinberg brings more than a quarter century of sales and sales management experience to his position, including ten years in the computer-based testing industry.

Before joining SkillCheck (now First Advantage Assessment Solutions) in 1995, Weinberg had a record of successful consulting and sales achievement at IBM, Bank of America, Wang Laboratories and Qwiz, another leading supplier of computer-based testing. Under his leadership, the division’s SkillCheck product line has seen a six-fold increase in sales. Weinberg recruits, trains and manages an effective network of distributors and resellers in North America, Europe, and Asia. Weinberg also plays a valuable role in the development of new product initiatives informed by the longstanding and close relationships he has formed with SkillCheck clients and distributors globally. Weinberg holds a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College.

 

Herb Haber, Vice President, Research and Development

Herb Haber brings more than three decades of expertise in technical communication and test development in business, industry, education and government. Before co-founding SkillCheck Inc. (now First Advantage Assessment Solutions Division), he was Associate Professor of English at the University of Lowell, Massachusetts, where he received a University Service Award for developing and directing a successful program in Business and Technical Writing, and was cited for his consulting work with Coopers & Lybrand, Digital Equipment Corporation, RCA Automated Systems, and the U.S. Army Materials and Mechanics Research Center (AMMRC).

Haber has overseen the development and validation of widely used computer-based aptitude tests for computer literacy and for clerical, call-center, nursing and other job skills. Haber holds a B.A. in English from Brooklyn College, an M.A. in English from The University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. from Brandeis University.
